"Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's works are distinguished by his colorful and imaginative orchestration, and Scheherazade is perhaps the finest example of them all (Claude Debussy, no slouch of an orchestrator himself, paid Scheherazade the highest compliment by using a passage from its second movement, virtually unaltered, in both La mer and Daphnis et Chloe). Scheherazade's gorgeous melodies and vast, impeccably employed palette of orchestral colors have made it Rimsky-Korsakov's most popular work." - AMG.

A very rich, warm recording. Instruments have tremendous details and are surrounded by "air" and presence. Instrument's tonality and timbre are well captured. Strong dynamics, a wide and deep soundstage and pin-point imaging further contribute to the outstanding sound and performance.
Surface noise is low-level but audible on soft passages.
Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get.
