First, I need to start with the Legendary CJ build quality. See the attached pictures and the proprietary CJ capacitors. Second, this is an outstanding DAC. It is quiet, detailed, smooth, extended, and has a wide soundstage. In my own shootout, it was a full step above the Adcom GDA-700 (excellent DAC chipset), McCormack DAC1, Shek d2, and Cambridge Audio DACmagic in sound quality. The tube output stage of the CJ is just in another league. I have upgraded the tubes to Mullard 6GK5 ($60) tubes from reliable team at Upscale Audio (tubes are 6 months old). I will ship the unit with the GE tubes and will keep the Mullards boxed separately to keep them from damage. You will enjoy the DAC. This is a very nice upgrade for someone looking to add tube magic to their system. Please see the pictures as there is a small scratch on the side of the face plate. It does not show from the front and did not show in my cabinet. I will also include the outstanding review by Alan Sircon and the product sales sheet.
