Conrad Johnson MF 2500 Solid State Amplifier

Listing a Conrad Johnson MF2500 Amplifier, the top of the two channel MF line. It is in excellent condition. I am posting a 8 of 10 because I am the second owner and there is a small, about 1/8 inch, rub on the right side of the face plate. I don't know if it was there when I first received the amp, because I did not notice it, but you can see it in the 2nd and 3rd picture. I had the unit for about a week when the wife gave me all sorts of grief about the size of the amp. Since she is not a willing participant in the whole HiFi setup being in the living room, I am picking my battles.

If you want to upgrade to the "A" version, it is possible to do so directly with Conrad Johnson. I have heard the cost is about $500. I would advise you to do your research first though, as both the "A" and "non-A" versions have their advantages. The proponents of upgrading will tell you that you will get more detail, quickness in the bass, and more clarity. The proponents of the non "A" version will tell you that you will get what you expect from a Conrad Johnson amp. That it will give you the best of both worlds - excellent bass weight, speed and detail for a tube - smoother and more musical for a solid state. Either way, you will likely have the amp for 10+ years as this unit is in perfect working condition and excellent cosmetic condition. It is truly a beautiful piece, no matter what my wife says....
