CONRAD JOHNSON PV7 PV 7 W/ PHONO SECTION TUBE PREAMPLIFIER

Beautiful and very musical sounding tube preamp from CJ...
Very nice condition and fine sounding, no hum or buzz or noise
This one comes with (then) optional phono section.
All five vacuum tubes inside (12AX7 x 3 and 12AT7 x 2) were checked professionally. All by the way, are vintage US Sylvania, nothing Chinese or Russian in this baby!
Cosmetically faceplate is mint, top of black chassis has very minor wear from stacking gear and there is one ticny nick on each of the two pots on left. Too small to show in pictures, but I should mention it.
All original, no repairs, no stupid mod.
volume pot has minimal scratchiness at lowest setting, quiet once in rotation past "zero" level.

Successor to the PV6, the PV7 is a dramatic demonstration of the excellent results obtainable with simple circuits that are carefully executed. A single triode voltage amplifier was used in the line stage (high level) directly coupled to the cathode follower. This design required only one capacitor in the line stage signal path greatly reducing the distortions and non-linearities associated with more complex designs. The phono section was noticeably quieter than earlier designs. Features:
