Overview

The Crystal Cable Digit is the ideal link between a high end transport and DAC, as well as for ultimate home theater applications. Offered with RCA or BNC connectors at 75 ohms, or with XLR balanced connectors to meet the 110 ohm AES/EBU standard. The sonic difference that this digital cable provides when compared to its competition is absolutely stunning. The Crystal Digit will enable you to hear the true performance level that your digital playback is capable of for the first time!

Crystal Cable uses the best possible conductors and isolators. A proprietary, annealed gold and silver alloy becomes the central positive conductor whose surface treatment allows for a near-zero state of crystalline boundaries and related distortions. Helically cross-wrapped Kapton foils act as the dielectric and electrical/mechanical shield. Kapton is very hard and exhibits a high 400~C melting point. It is a superb insulator and exceptionally strong, especially when configured in a triple layer such as found in Crystal Cable. The braided silver mesh visible through the outer Teflon jacked carries both the negative return signal and acts as an additional shield for the central core. The clear outer Teflon coating acts as an additional insulator to reduce pickup of stray electrical fields generated outside the cable (including the seemingly innocuous static charges from synthetic rugs).

Because of their high price and challenging manufacturability, these conductive and isolation materials are usually prohibitive for consumer products. When combined, these cables come as close as theoretically possible to a purely amorphous conductor without the astronomically high price tag such a product would otherwise command.
