AMR DP-777 DAC. AMR / Abbingdon Music Research is the Parent/High End division of iFi Audio.
Excellent operational condition, and function. 5 digital inputs, including USB. 2 additional analog inputs, plus volume control, allows it to function as a preamp as well. Fantastic sounding in both NOS (non oversampling) or OS (oversampling) modes. NOS is my personal favorite. The DP-777 is the product of the legendary Thorsten Loesch and the Philips 1541A DAC chip. Extremely versatile with multiple modes, and filter options, plus on the fly switchable NOS or OS, (with dedicated dac chips Philips/Wolfson for each). Accepts inputs up to 192khz. Unique, tube input stage, plus tubed output. Relaxed, detailed, warm, effortless, non-fatiguing sound. I actually have two of these, I can only keep one, I had the SE upgrade installed on the one I'm keeping.
I have owned many DAC's, Theta Va, SFD1, SFD2, Monarchy, AGD M7, Yggdrasil, Holo L3, etc. To my ear, in my system, this "standard" ver. DP-777 bests them all, the SE upgrade really improves an already great DAC. The SE upgrade is a great DEAL($), if you choose to do so later.
Front, top, and sides are excellent and unblemished. Minor ding on rear upper corner of the case.
