Benchmark DAC2 HGC (Black)

This Benchmark DAC2 HGC is awesome!

I love this DAC.  Why am I selling it?  Because I really want to upgrade the the new DAC3, and I really need a DAC with an AES port.  Seriously.. the AES port is the main reason I'm selling this.  This thing sounds amazing, but I do need to upgrade (well, actually it's technically a downgrade) to the DX model.  
So, you have the chance to own this amazing DAC and headphone amplifier for a great price.  It's in great condition.  I've listed it as an 8/10 because it's a couple years old, but is in otherwise awesome shape.  It's also spent its life in a kid-free, smoke-free environment with lots of love, so it looks great and works perfectly.

This DAC really seems to be immune to the differences in source. It sounds amazing, regardless of whether I drive it from USB (no drivers for the Mac), from S/PDIF or optical TOSLINK.      
Also, the built-in headphone amplifier is quite impressive, and has driven many high-end headphones amazingly for me.

More than just a DAC 

This HGC model also includes a hybrid analog pre-amplifier in addition to the DAC section.  You can use this as a single digital and analog pre-amp to drive your powered speakers or external power amps from either the unbalanced (RCA) or balanced (XLR) outputs.  It's truly an incredible standalone digital pre-amp that you can use for the core of your entire system.  The included remote control makes it a great one-box solution.
