Me: “I have owned several different DL III DACs over the years including a Cullen Stage III and the Stage IV that's for sale now. The stock unit already impressed me. It is easy to listen to, detailed, yet warm. What Cullen does to the DL III is magical. Besides swapping internal parts for better ones and installing better connectors, they throw in magical audio pixie dust. THAT much difference the mod makes. It now competes with the Audio Research DAC-8, which I absolutely love. Still warm, very natural, more detail, deeper black background, ultra quiet and a more '3D' sound. For the $599.99 that I am asking, there will be nothing that comes close to its performance.”
