| Can you explain how these modifications FGPA and ADC affect the performance of thism unit? The ADC is there to allow digital volume control using analog input and is out of the circuit when inpu ting a digital signal.
FGPA is the type of DAC; other techs used are ready made 'chips' or 'discrete arrays.' With FGPA the chip is programmed by the designee rather than worked around. It also allows for the circuit to be updated meaning you can have a hardware upgrade without sending the unit in or buying a new model. This allows Exogal to use proprietary DAC design without needing to revert to R2R technology. |
