The Adcom GDA-700 is a cost effective may to experience the magic of a R2R DAC. This "humble" DAC is full featured and has the same chip set as Levinson 36 using an Ultra-Analog AES21 receiver, Pacific Microsonics HDCD decoder, and Burr Brown 20 bit 1702 DACs. The GDA-700 is a big step up from its predecessor, the GDA-600. Serial Number DA71DB00588 To get better sound in a R2R DAC, I think you need to step up to the R2R Ultra Analog DAC family that includes Levinson, Classe, Spectral, Sonic Frontiers, Threshold, and Parasound for significantly more money. If interested in a Parasound D/AC 2000 Ultra, look for my upcoming listing or contact me. Rave review from Stereophile: If transparency of sonics, retrieval of low-level detail, and bass slam and heft are critical, the Adcom GDA-700 may be for you. Overall, the GDA-700 had superlative technical performance. The high channel separation, terrific linearity, excellent noise modulation, and good jitter performance are impressive for a $1000 processor.—Robert Harley -- Several small scratches or nicks on the faceplate and top. Flawless working condition. Digital Inputs: 2 S/PDIF coax, 1 optical, and 1 AES/EBU Analog Outputs: RCA and XLR Buyer pays shipping and PayPal or credit card fees
