This is a great sounding DAC featuring one of the best D to A chips ever produced; Texas Instruments PCM 1704 (one per channel). It has a hybrid power supply that uses 2 large batteries for the analog output. A word clock output makes it possible to "slave" an external device such as a transport. The DAC2004 is never fatiguing; a very transparent, musical component free from the 'grain and hash' associated with delta sigma designs.
