Northstar Model 192 DAC

For sale North Star Model 192 DAC. The unit has some scratches, which I've tried to capture in the pictures.  The input signal to the Model 192 DAC are converted or upsampled to 192kHz-24bit before conversion. While the unit works as a regular DAC, one unique feature if you have the Model 192 Transport is that the 192 Transport and DAC can be coupled via I2S connection, which allows the transmission of the digital signal without jitter error. The M192 has a I2S input on RJ45 connector; this connection allows the conversion of an input signal to 192kHz-24bit. This connection is supported by the North Star Design CD-transport. On I2S connection the digital signal is directly transferred to the DAC without jitter; digital audio data and clocks are separately transmitted to the DAC and not mixed in a single signal like S/PDIF or AES/EBU; this avoids any jitter problem in clock reconstruction.
