The PS Audio PerfectWave Mk II Digital to Analog Converter
(PWD) is a state-of-the-art D-to-A processor, preamplifier and media
center. The PWD accepts PCM Digital
Audio (up to 192 kHz, 32 bit) and converts it to high-performance analog audio
that can drive a power amplifier directly, or be fed to a preamplifier. At the time of its introduction, the PWD MkII
represented a major advancement in the art of recreating the musical
event. This was PS Audio’s flagship DAC
prior to the introduction of the $6,000 DirectStream DAC in 2014.
I bought this unit new from an authorized dealer in Aug,
2012, and it was my sole digital source until I picked up a DirectStream a couple
weeks ago. This PWD was built as a MK
II, and came with the network bridge installed.
Both the PWD and the Bridge have the latest firmware installed. It’s in mint condition, and comes with
everything that was in the original box, as shown in the pictures. The protective plastic cover for the top was
off during the time it was in my system, and I replaced it to further protect
it during shipping. Opening this up will
be essentially the same experience I had when I got it brand new…
The cost of fully insured shipping is the responsibility of
the buyer, as are Paypal fees (2.9% of total transaction). I would probably ship via Fedex ground, but
if the buyer prefers UPS I can do that instead.
