Red Wine Audio Isabellina

For Sale: Red Wine Audio Bellina Renaissance (not the Isabellina which Audiogon oddly insists this be named) NOS (Non-over-sampling) DAC (Digital-analogue-converter). This is a battery operated unit with tube output. Enclosed in cherry wood.

 Three inputs: optical, coaxial & USB. 2015 vintage. Newer battery. Used about one year in time. Condition is great--no defects. Uses a 12ax7 or 6DJ8 buffer tube. Very smooth & spacious & detailed sound. Will accept all digital inputs but outputs to 16 bit only. This type of NOS DAC is especially musicial for CD and MP3 and Youtube streaming--many audiophiles feeling that 16 bit digital music through up- or over- sampling adds an irritating distortion. And such has been my personal experience. 
I've another Red Wine Audio DAC (of earlier vintage, but modified) that I am keeping: thus I love the sound. For months I've gone back and forth about keeping this one...but life expenses have made it necessary for me to sell. This one is in lovely Cherry wood (which I also think makes for a more organic sound vs metal or plastic). Will ship in manufacturers box which is very well padded. Will include the charger, of course, which is not pictured. 
The ways this battery DAC works is to turn the switch one click and AC is running through the battery or two clicks to run on pure battery. On battery there is a quieter background without AC haze. I get 6 and a half hours on one charge. When the unit is turned off (clicking back to the left) the battery automatically recharges.
For 16 bit input, this is an awesome DAC.
