Baby brother of the DSPro Gen V, the basic IIIa is a dual 20-bit DAC featuring the same - proprietary - 8x over-sampling filter that produces the most holographic sound-stage and hard-hitting / textured bass of any DAC in the category. Creates an open/transparent window to the music with a warmth that is missing in today's digital processors.
Conservatively rated 7/10 due to age. The front panel touch buttons are super sensitive, which makes the input selection a bit random. Works like a charm.
