The only USB to SPDIF converter that's appealed to me more than this Yellowtec PUC2 Lite is the far more costly Berkeley Alpha USB converter.
The output is balanced only via AES/EBU with XLR connectors. There are no drivers to install, and since PUC2 Lite is USB-powered, you won’t need a separate power supply. High-resolution music files are supported, up to 192 kHz at 24-bit.
Rave review on Stereo Times noted: "The Yellowtec is just flat out more natural sounding than any other converter I've used. It simply pulls you in to the music."
