Zodiac Platinum with Voltikus Power Supply Trade in your old DAC

I have had the privilege of using the New Platinum DAC since RMAF 2013, even with out using it with an Atomic Clock on its clock input it set a new level of performance handily besting the Zodiac Gold that Stereophile Rated A+ and now ranks the Platinum A+.   I know you are tired of hearing guys like me talking about how a veil was lifted but consider this, the part time Audiophile Scott Hull, reported that my Room with the King III speakers, the Music Vault M7 and Zodiac Platinum sounded as good or better as all the megabuck $200K and up rooms at RMAF. My source was the New Music Vault M7 and converted by the Platinum on Saturday into sublime analog.

The Platinum also functions as a spectacular Preamplifier, with 2 analog inputs and the following Digital inputs: USB, 2 coax spdif, 2 optical spdif, AES/EBU balanced digital out.

Now I am certain that this DAC sounds better than what ever DACs you are used to as the Zodiac Gold sounds as good or better than the overwhelming majority of DACs out there and the Platinum takes this performance to a whole new level that must be heard to be appreciated. The Platinum will make you smile and you will have a very hard time turning your stereo off once you start to listen to it.

Zodiac Platinum has inherited the stepped relay volume control and the dual stage headphone drivers with impedance control from its very successful and highly appreciated predecessor Zodiac Gold. Whereas many top of the line DACs offer PCM upsamplers, the Platinum is the first device to offer a DSD upsampler. This distinctive feature allows the upsampling of DSD64 to DSD256, pushing DSD noise into higher frequencies, vastly improving the quality of the D/A conversion. The Platinum bypasses internal digital filters built into the DAC chip by implementing a custom upsampler with carefully designed high-precision filters in the FPGA.
