Denon seems to have found that middle ground between solid state and tubes, these never sound harsh, they do have that elusive musicality to the sound, have that classic Denon solidity and authority, and play louder than the specs might imply. The S-10 Power Amplifiers are single ended, and really sound best through the RCA inputs, which has been upgraded to WBT 0101 solid copper RCA jacks. The S-10 Preamplifier includes tone controls, a quiet, clean phono section, with switchable moving coil / moving magnet gain. It also sounds best through the (remote selectable) RCA inputs, and has both single ended outputs and balanced outputs. The included remote also controls Denon CD players, cassette decks, tuners. Quite a good value; nuance with power. Yes, they are North American 120 volt versions.
