Up for sale is a completely refurbished Garrard 301 by PerfectSound of England licensed by Loricraft to use the Garrard name. Below is some of the original information from PerfectSound.Here is a rare opportunity to acquire a fully rebuilt Grey grease bearing this turntable has been stripped and professionally rebuilt by PerfectSound We have many years experience with the Garrard every part on this turntable that does not meet our standard has been replaced, having all the spares is an advantage to be able to restore this fine turntable. (We would like to Thank Terry of Loricraft Audio for his kind permission of the Garrard Logo on our products) This unit came to us and unfortunately the turntable was in very poor condition it had been left in a damp shed for 40 years every thing had corroded no paint on it and the original plates were very badly pitted and unusable even the linkage was rusty. We pride ourselves with particular care including the stripping down process including rivet removal, we have a special tool that removes the rivets without damaging the holes with careless drilling. Here came the love and attention it needed, we carefully stripped the unit the chassis and platter were sent to our powder coaters for treatment they're carefully shot peened with aluminum oxide then degassed for two hours to remove any excess gas and damp buildup, the units were then powder coated and baked at 90c to cure the process. Why do we powder coat the units, powder coating Is the perfect finish, ultra durable also very tuff and will never need coating again. The rebuild process is very time consuming making sure that every thing fits back together correctly. Before the unit can be assembled the plates need to be fitted we use stainless steel rivets that do not rust and will last indefinitely also the correct original holes, PerfectSound face plates are used to replace the corroded originals and look fantastic. The motor and main bearing are stripped, any worn parts are replaced, greased and oiled ready for refitting to the chassis new levers are used grommets replaced including a new main bearing gasket. We use zinc re plated linkage, also screws and springs to replace the old cadmium plated (poisonous to touch) metalwork. The unit is then assembled checking every step, once unit has been assembled it is then run for twenty four hours to make sure that every thing is running correctly. We even play our favorite vinyl on the units to appreciate our hard work. This is a fully refurbished turntable and non genuine parts have not been used, basically they are not available, Regardless this is a fantastic rebuilt table that will outlive its owner and the next and give many years of enjoyment. To us this turntable is perfect and so is the sound.
