A recent job promotion means I no longer have time to pursue my passion. Thus I am unloading some vintage tube gear with issues but worthy of another tube enthusiasts’ attention. Included is: Fisher KX-200 Integrated Amplifier w/all tubes, manual and No case. Fisher FM-100B Tuner w/all tubes and no case. Lafayette LT-78 Tuner w/all tubes & manual. Pilot 240 Integrated Amplifier w/No Tubes. I have done some preliminary examination/troubleshooting on the fisher. The unit starts out with weak sound in one channel which grows weaker, the other channel is fine. The output tubes are weak. As for the Pilot, I only got as far as bringing it up on the variac and note that one channel was not playing. I noticed that some capacitors had been replaced willy-nilly with poly-types. Also noticed some pretty sloppy soldering inside. I got the impression that replacing those caps with correct values and type could solve the problem. I did not get around to testing the Fisher or Lafayette Tuners. All units are fairly clean, with no evident rust or corrosion, and good transformers. The fisher units spent their lives inside a custom cabinet until removed by me. Please note: my exam of the units was done several months ago. EXERCISE CAUTION. USE A VARIAC. The units will be professionally packed and shipped in four boxes with tubes removed and packed appropriately. Shipping will be $120 via Fed Ex ground. Payment via USPS Money Order or Certified Bank Check. Thanks.
