Fleawatt Hand Crafted exotic wood 10 watt per channel solid state amplifier [Expired]
This one of a kind, hand crafted amplifier is based around the Philips TDA2616 IC and puts out 10 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It is most compatible with high efficiency 93db or better speakers. It is a perfect match for single driver and horn loaded speakers. My amplifiers are being used successfully with Klipsch speakers, Fostex back loaded horns, Tang Band speakers, among others.
The chassis of this amplifier is made of 18ga. hammered copper finished solid steel and one inch thick solid canary wood with a hand rubbed linseed oil varnish. No veneer. The spikes are custom machined solid aluminum. The functional vintage panel meter indicates when the unit has been powered on.
Audiophile quality parts include Jantzen Superior Z capacitors, carbon film resistors, Alps volume pot, an IEC power filter module, Avel toroidal transformer with dual bridge rectifiers, cat 5e and 18ga. solid core copper wire, Neutrik RCA connectors, Dayton Audio binding posts and all point to point wiring throughout.
There is no circuit board used.
In my listening tests, this amplifier is warmer than several gainclones I've owned. I prefer it over all of the Tripath amps I've owned or compared it to. It has very strong bass and no solid state brightness.
If you don't need the higher power of a gainclone, this is a great alternative, with smoother, warmer sound. I've settled with this IC due to it's warmish, yet powerful character. It is the most tube like IC I've heard.
I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Rated 7/10 because of the hand crafted nature.
