These are not B-stock like most of the Revels you see on Audiogon. These were originally purchased as new, A-stock from an authorized dealer in December 2015, they are the latest model. We are selling these because our client switched to the Mahogany finish. He loves the Salon2s so much that he actually owns 3 pairs!
The owner is a doctor, he is very careful with his gear and this pair is from a pet free, non-smoking home. The speakers have never been repaired. The Salon2's are incredibly easy to place, so forgiving. We recently sold a pair of the B&W 802D's and they are definitely a good speaker but they are so finicky about placement I found them a bit challenging. I was constantly adjusting the toe in. It had to be just absolutely perfect for the way I was sitting. If I reclined my chair with the B&W's then the toe in was off, I had to stand up and reset them and come back to my chair. I was in constant motion trying to keep the speakers adjusted. Well with these Revels my son set them up, I just walked in, sat in my chair, they were perfect for me right off the bat. I could recline and do whatever I want. In fact, I listened for 2 days before I even thought about it. Then my pride kicked in and I said, "Oh, maybe I should adjust the left speaker just a tiny bit" and I moved it like 4 degrees just so I could do something! I have customers who have them set up completely off center, or right against brick walls, or glass doors, no toe in, too much toe in, all kinds of things. They still sound amazing. This is truly a speaker that is high end, but you and your spouse and your whole family can live with it. Whereas some of my customers with Wilsons, have the speaker outlined in tape on the floor because it took them so long to find that perfect spot they don't want to risk that the cleaning lady budges a speaker and then they lose it again.
On top of this, I find that the Revel beryllium tweeters are the absolute best of both worlds. I have always been a soft tweeter guy before I got my first pair of these. I found hard tweeters fatiguing for any length of time. I could stand them OK for theater use but not for sustained music listening. I still feel that way about diamond, even some of the ultra high end implementations. And I certainly don't love all beryllium tweeters. But Revel's implementation won me over. Somehow it manages to yield the best characteristics of both a soft and a hard tweeter (no puns please). And in fact the whole speaker is like that. It reminds me and many reviewers of the best qualities we love in a fine electrostatic speaker. But it also has the tight bass and low midrange drive which dynamic speakers excel at and which electrostats struggle with. All in all, this speaker is a tour de force. It is just a very, very hard speaker to top, especially at any kind of reasonable price point. And because FedEx put 2 tiny dings in these so you get them for even less. In all honesty, I WISH Revel would offer a speaker that cost more. I have so many customers who love these and they never upgrade. If Revel would come out with a $50K speaker I bet we'd have people lining up to buy them.

Despite the small flaws, these speakers look absolutely magnificent and so my wife took the opportunity of having them here to not only take a full set of photos of the speakers from all angles which we do for all our listings, we also decided to fully test and photograph them with 2 different systems of beautiful gear on a precious Tandem Statement rack from Greece in matching piano gloss black. So you get to read about our experience and see our new line, Audio Alchemy, from Peter Madnick. This is fun affordable line of gear, the combined Preamp/DAC with external power supply and the stereo Power Amp shown here cost less than $5,000 retail. They sound wonderful. The volume control is one of the finest I have ever beheld on a component of any price. Peter and his team actually build the Constellation components, some of which go for over $100,000, and compete directly with the other line we have shown here which is Ypsilon. Ypsilon is our current reference, it is what we won the honor of being StereoTimes favorite room of show at Newport 2016 with, and it drives the Revels to heights I have never experienced before. Our client sent us these to sell because he switched to the Mahogany ones. But, unfortunately FedEx Freight put 2 little flaws in the finish of one of these speakers. FedEx Freight had never damaged any of our stuff in 10 years of shipping with them, they are very careful. But something went wrong and one of the two speakers received two small flaws which our photos show very clearly below. The other speaker is still perfect. We have cut the asking price by over $2,000 to account for these small flaws. Note that because the speakers are kind of oval shaped if you are looking down at them from the top and since the flaws are near the back on the side of one speaker, the flaws are not visible from the listening position nor from the top. Even with the speakers toed in quite a lot, even if I toe them in more than they should be, I still cannot see the flaws from my seat. The only time I would see them would be if I was putting in a CD on the rack between the speakers or something like that. The picture below has the flaw in it.
These are small flaws. Looking at the speakers from any distance, I cannot distinguish the flaws from the shine that the reflective gloss black finish gives off in places where lights hit it. The larger of the two marks at it's tallest is about as tall as a US quarter and at it's widest is half an inch wide. The smaller one is shorter than a US nickel and about a quarter of an inch at it's widest. These marks could be repaired at a place that does furniture repair, which most cities have. But we live in rural New Mexico and there is no place like that. And furthermore, as sellers, we feel it is best that we never do anything to conceal a flaw. We actually try to make it stand out as much as possible so that buyers will be able to clearly see what they are getting. Our reputation is more important to us than what we get for the speakers. But once you have them you can make them look almost as good as new if you want to do so. I am sure that there would still be some mark visible at close inspection, but from any distance you could make the small flaws disappear. If you're interested in doing a repair, you could take the picture below to a furniture repair place and ask them how much to repair a piano black speaker like this. We have taken over $2,000 off the asking price for these 2 small flaws. If that seems like a good deal to you then great. I know you can find these speakers for a tiny bit less buying from a private seller rather than us. But think about whether that really makes sense. If you ever need service, that private seller is not going to help you. We will. We are still helping people we sold Revels to when we first opened our business. We respond to all service inquiries within one business day and there is no markup on parts or service. Some of those speakers are 20 years old now. In fact, as we were working on this listing last night at almost midnight a customer who has 7 of the Ultima2 Gem2's in his theater room wrote to say he heard crackling and thought he could have a problem. I stopped what I was doing and wrote him back a response within minutes explaining how to isolate the issue and figure out whether it was the speaker, the amp channel, or something else. Why did I do that? Because if I bought an expensive product from someone I would love to receive service like that. I wouldn't expect a response in the middle of the night of course. Of all the products we have ever sold in the 15 + years we have been in business, the Revel Salon2's are the one customers have loved the most. People who bought them years ago still call and email us out of the blue just to say how they still love their speakers. We don't have any other product we have ever sold where people have done that so much. They just make people happy. We have found there is a big downside to selling them which is that some of our customers used to buy new speakers often. Once they get these they never buy new speakers, they are set for life. Not only are these a great sounding speaker, these are SO easy to live with. I have clients who have placed these in just awful positions in their rooms, usually because a style conscious partner insists on that, and still- they get absolutely wonderful sound! This is the most forgiving speaker of any speaker we have ever tried or sold in terms of accepting any kind of room placement, any size of room. We've had people with very tough rooms who had bought 3 or 4 different pairs of speakers, sometimes speakers running more than 3 times as much money as these, and not been able to get a good sound with their difficult acoustics who, when they bought a pair of these Salon2s were able to smile with relief and enjoy their music again. And their wives or partners love them. They don't look like weird robots, they fit in, they tend to actually get compliments from women visitors, which is rare. All around, these are just the best thought out speaker you can get for the money.
People will often ask me about amps and power. The Salon2's are 86.4dB efficient. They have a reputation as a power hungry speaker. It is certainly true that if you have or would like to buy enormous amps that the Salon2's can handle every watt you give them beautifully. I've pinned the meters on a big pair of McIntosh mono blocks at over 1,400 watts and I'm sure my Salon2's could have taken even more good, clean power. Now, admittedly, my nearest neighbor is a quarter mile away, I grew up on the road with the Grateful Dead, and while I love classical and other forms of music too- I definitely like to play rock at true rock concert volumes. So when I put on my Who I want to hear Keith Moon's kick drums just as loud as I would have heard them if he'd lived long enough for me to see him play live (he died just before I was about to see the Who for the first time). Or when I play my Pink Floyd, I terrify my family. At the T.H.E. Show Newport this year we demoed a sweet system with Ypsilon electronics, Acoustic Zen Maestro speakers, Aurender W20 music server and all Verastarr cables. It was our first time demoing at a show. And we are very proud to have won favorite room of show from Stereo Times, we thank them for that great honor. Actually if you wanted to spend more money than the Salon2's I'd say that the next speaker "up the line" that I would invest in would be the $45K retail Acoustic Zen Maestros that we won with at Newport. While $45K isn't cheap, most people who saw and heard those speakers thought they would run more like $60,000 to $80,000 than $45K. They are an incredible amount of speaker for the money. And the Rosewood veneers they use are just outstanding, or they have other finishes if that isn't to your taste. I love Rosewood.

At T.H.E. Show Newport whenever I got my hands on the controls, I terrified people and drove not only the guests but our staff and my family from the room playing Zeppelin or Floyd at volumes that completely overloaded the room (despite the loan of a few wonderful new Tube Traps from Art Noxon, CEO of Acoustic Sciences Corporation). I quickly learned that if I wanted to have any guests in the room that I better leave the controls in the hands of my wife and son or Kevin Brook, our installer who worked for Arnie Nudell designing and building speakers at Genesis Loudspeakers for many years.
But I digress, I was talking amps ... So you get the idea, I like it really loud. I often say the kind of sound I am going for when I design a system, ideally designing the whole room including custom acoustic treatments, is a sound like what I remember from standing on stage with the Dead at Red Rocks. Just completely blown wide open, rock flowing through me with unlimited power.
And these speakers can do that for sure. Few speakers actually can. Especially few that are this affordable. But these ones can. To do that however, if you have a room for it, and a wife and neighbors who will allow it and so on, you will want some big power. But how much you need varies widely. For example, the 220W Ypsilon Aelius II tube Mono Blocks shown in some of the photos can drive the speakers much louder than a 500 watt McIntosh solid state mono block. I absolutely could NOT turn the volume all the way up with the Ypsilon, I would die. Now this did not make much sense to me. I would normally think that a 500 watt solid state amp is going to be able to drive the speaker a lot louder than a 220 watt tube amp. Not necessarily to sound better, and obviously the Ypsilons sound much better, but I would have thought the McIntosh would be louder. But it wasn't. So it's not just a simple matter of how many watts. And please don't take this as putting the Mac amps down. I loved how they sounded with the Salon2's and I don't think any normal person would ever have a shortage of power with a 500W Mac mono block on these speakers. In truth, we have customers who drive these speakers with low powered Single Ended Triode (SET) amps and absolutely love them. They probably don't play rock at the same volume I do but they love the speakers and are happy with the combination. I have driven these amps with everything from a very humble 100WPC 7 channel JBL theater amp that I got for $500 to the $40,000 a pair Ypsilon Aelius II's that we debuted at Newport this year and which are driving these speakers in some of the pics here. That little JBL amp, also sold for more by Harman under their Lexicon brand, was darn good. I was actually driving a 7 channel Ultima2 set with Salon2's, a Voice2 center, Gem2 sides and a pair of Studio2's in the rear with that little $1,000 retail amp I had gotten on sale for $500. It was really great for theater and even decent for concert BluRays, all for $500 driving like $60,000 worth of speakers. But I've used McIntosh MC-501 and MC-601 mono blocks, a couple different Bryston amps, a Krell Evolution 402 stereo amp with the Krell 2-chassis Evo preamp, several different Mark Levinson solid state amps, those of course were designed in the same facility as these speakers in Northridge, CA and specifically built to drive these speakers. Some of them do it very, very well indeed like the Mark Levinson No. 532 and the Mark Levinson No. 53 although the cost of them is on the high side of course. But there is a lot to be said for getting products that are designed to work together. I haven't gotten to try out a Mark Levinson No. 536 with the Salon2's in my system yet but I look forward to being able to do that. Probably even the No. 534 would be fantastic. I've used a variety of theater amps including the massively powerful Verastarr amps, the Cinepro amps, and AB International which were the amps that Frank Zappa used and swore by (Zappa and my dad were roommates in college). I've bi-amped with some of those amps giving the speakers 1,600 WPC into 4 ohms.

Their DDP-1 DAC/Preamp with PS-5 external power supply is shown on the middle shelf with their DPA-1 125WPC compact hybrid Class A/Class D power amp shown below it. I didn't buy their stuff to drive speakers as large as these Revels. While they can do it and they sound wonderful I like them better driving my Silverines which are far more efficient and that's what I got them for, to use with an Aurender N100H in one of my smaller systems.
The Ypsilon Aelius II mono blocks, weigh in at 100 pounds per mono amp and deliver 220 watts into 8 ohms, 350 watts into 4 ohms. With these I can drive the Revel Ultima Salons as loud as I want, actually I cannot stand to go past about 2/3 on the volume knob, it gets too loud but still perfectly clean.
So the speakers can take as much power as you want to give them. But how much you NEED to give them will depend widely on whether you like it loud, how big your room is, how much absorption, the type of music you listen to and so on. We want you to be happy with your purchase. We are not the kind of dealer that wants to sell you speakers then have you find that you need an amp, then you need a preamp and you just have to keep spending. That's not our way. Of course if you WANT to keep buying then we are at your service and happy to assist. But we don't want you to feel you got trapped into a purchase you didn't plan for. So if you have a question as to whether your amp(s) are up to the job then email us or give us a call and we'll give you honest advice. We personally enjoy seeing curves and drivers of these beautiful speakers. However, some people prefer them with their magnetically attached grilles, especially if they will be used in the theater.

Many people build a combined system where they have 2 channel and 7 channel in the same room, or even now we are doing 11 channel Revel Ultima2 Atmos systems, plus subs, and can do even more than that. When I was 19, I bought some reference KEF's out of the back of one of the audio magazines. I loved those speakers that I had to save up for more than a year to buy. But then I blew a tweeter. And the dealer who sold them to me would not help, the local dealer did not want to help since I did not buy it there. Finally, I found one who would but he charged me more than 50% of what I paid for the speakers to fix the problem of one little tiny blown tweeter! He told me the only way to get the part was to buy whole new tweeter and midrange sections for both speakers from England (6 drivers total), wait for months for him to get the parts, etc. So I have been through that and I know a lot of people are afraid to get a deal on speakers because of that kind of experience. Nobody wants to be treated the way the KEF dealers treated me all those years ago. But we replaced tweeters for someone with the original Salons, a speaker costing almost 10 times as much as those KEF's I had, and the cost was under $500 to replace both tweeters with brand new ones. So, very reasonable, and that was after he had used them over 10 years. Most of our customers who have had them 5-10 years have not had any problems at all. But if they do then we are here to help at any time. All service inquiries are responded to within 1 business day even though we charge no markup on the service at all. So you can buy with confidence. If you buy from us then we want you to be our customer for life so we'll treat you well, just as we ourselves want to be treated and how I wish they had treated me when I bought the KEF's at 19.
Robert Harley's review describes the Salon2s as "A Tour-de-Force in Contemporary Loudspeaker Design." This is the speaker that won the coveted Absolute Sound Loudspeaker of the Year Award for 2007 in the "Cost Is No Object" category and it was featured on the cover of The Absolute Sound in January 2008. Mr. Harley has stated that if he had to use his own money to buy speakers that these are the speakers he would buy over ALL other speakers he has ever tested at any price point. I feel the same way, as I think a lot of other reviewers and experts do. Mr. Harley's statement is a very powerful one unlike anything I have ever heard from him. While this was said over 8 years ago and many speakers have shown themselves in the speaker market, we believe that the Revel speakers remain high on the best all around speaker list. Now at $22,000 retail, this cannot be considered a "cheap" speaker. However, the Sonus Faber Stradivari won comparable recognition from Stereophile and The Absolute Sound but at $48,000, it retails at more than twice the cost of the Salon2. So in terms of performance and value, I feel that this is Dollar for Dollar the Best Speaker in the World. I've sold this model to clients around the world and of all the products that we sell or have ever sold this is the top most loved product of any kind. Buyers who bought them years ago still write me from time to time to remark how they still love them. And these speakers are unique in what we sell in another way. I typically ask people who buy something like this what they are replacing, this helps me learn what they like. In around 40% of my sales of these, the buyers have been replacing a speaker that cost more, often a lot more. Well, in many areas of life that may not be too uncommon, the computer you bought this year often costs less than the one you bought last year for example. But for audiophiles, it's actually quite rare that we "step down" in cost unless something forces that. To voluntarily replace a $50,000 pair of speakers with a $22,000 pair and then to find that the $22,000 pair sounds better is actually very unusual. And these remarkable speakers are the ONLY product I know of where such a thing is common and not a great rarity.
I've sold these to buyers who had Rockports, Wilsons, B&W's, Egglestons, Magicos and many other brands of expensive speakers. Before Kevin Voecks came out with the Ultima2 line of Revels, I sold Revels mostly for home theater; I especially designed quite a number of theaters around F50's and later F52's. For the high-end audiophile customer, I usually sold Wilsons. But when the Ultima2's came out, I was so blown away by them that I had to have many of them for myself and I pretty much stopped selling Wilsons, aside from selling off my own to replace them with Revels. It was great for me that I could take a Wilson speaker I had bought new and sell it used for enough to buy new Revels. That's not how upgrades usually go. And many people who bought Wilsons from me back then followed me and replaced them with Revels and have really appreciated the sonic upgrade.
But how is that possible you might ask, that Revel makes a speaker that can offer so much performance at a lower price? Well, the truth is that Revel is not spending the kind of money that Dave Wilson spends on having a highly skilled workforce in the US individually mill each and every part of his speakers out of solid billet aluminum for example, or other such perfectionist practices. Revel clearly spends on R&D and designing a beautiful product at their facility in CA, which has been described as the world's most advanced audio facility, and they are built well, don't get me wrong. But I'd say more like Lexus well than Rolls Royce well. In fact, I had a customer who was considering buying the Salon2's, but he was complaining that the stitch work in his 2010 Bentley was not of high enough quality compared to his 2006 Rolls (I hope I got the years right--don't buy a car based on this anecdote please). I told him that he should not order the Revels in Mahogany because the grade of veneer that Revel is using is not, to my eye at least, the very finest and there are some imperfections--or what I consider imperfections, at least. I tell perfectionists like him to buy the black ones. I don't think Mr. Wilson would allow something like that, it goes against the grain for him, pun intended. But I honestly have to say that I admire Kevin Voecks and the people at Revel for doing things this way and for making this incredible speaker affordable to people who either can't or just aren't going to pony up $50,000 for a pair of speakers. And I prefer the mahogany wood ones. I honestly don't mind that they may not have used the most expensive veneer they could because for me it is a loudspeaker and the sound is what I care the most about. That said, these speakers do have incredibly high WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). We have women come in the showroom and just stand there stroking these speakers all the time. They did not like the old design Salons, which I loved the look of myself. But they love these. These speakers have the highest WAF of any loudspeaker we have ever sold, bar none.
Now, as a dealer who has customers who LIKE spending $50K and up for speakers, I wish that Mr. Voecks WOULD design a product in that range that I can sell them, yes I do. And another one in the $100K plus range. And who knows, maybe there is even a market for some above that. We have Lansche and Scaena and Perfect8 and other loudspeakers we can sell in those price ranges. The trouble is they do not offer a vertically integrated and aesthetically integrated line for the whole home like Revel does. I can sell you Scaena towers for prices from about $35,000 retail all the way up to $165,000 retail but they don't have regular center channels or surrounds. True, they have offered to custom make them for me, which is great, I really appreciate that and would love to do a custom theater with their stuff all around. I can sell you Perfect8's for $375,000 a pair. But again, they don't have a full line of speakers for every purpose like Revel does. Revel has everything already out there, ready to go, with great reviews to back it up. You can show your wife exactly what it will all look like. And buyers love that. And I am very happy that Revel has made it so I can afford to have a speaker that is quite legitimately among the best in the world. I cannot afford a Rolls or a Bentley, even with a big discount for shoddy stitching in the leather. But I can enjoy these speakers, and I do!
In fact, at one point we had a 7 channel set of these in our own theater, 2 Salon2's in front, a Voice2 center, Gem2's on the sides and Studio2's in the rear. The sound was phenomenal!
Our more recent theater recommendations feature 3 Salon2's in the front behind a Screen Excellence acoustically transparent curved screen mounted in a false wall covered in speaker cloth. This is the system that we design and build for our clients who want the very best home theater possible, one that meets the highest audiophile standards for listening to music and watching movies, concerts or anything else they do in the room. We even did a room with a recording studio in the back that can open up to the theater! That room had 24 subwoofers in it. But in the more normal rooms we use 3 Salon2's behind the screen and then 4-6 Revel Gem2's mounted on the side and rear walls with 5 REL Acoustics subs. We actually had one of our customers who surrounded himself with 7 Salon2's plus 4 big JL Audio subwoofers! Whatever type of system you desire for your home theater, man cave, media room, or any other space in your home(s) we can help you realize the system of your dreams more affordably. Our installer has worked in the industry more than 30 years, he is an accomplished classical musician, he has worked for a genius designing and building speakers and amps, and he has many years of experience doing custom installation for the most discerning clients in Vail, CO. If you need any other products to go with the Salon2's just let us know, we'll be happy to assist you and to make a package deal. So we know what it's like to be a family who buys such things, we had a Runco theater for example long before we sold home theaters. I don't know any other sellers for whom that is true.

"The Salon2s treble reproduction was quite simply the best I've heard from a dynamic loudspeaker. The top end was highly detailed, but not in a brash or analytical way. Cymbals, for example, were portrayed with a delicacy and inner detail that must be heard to be believed. It was as though the metallic sheen overlaying the treble were so accustomed to hearing in reproduced music was stripped away to reveal the nuance and subtlety of the cymbals texture. The instrument went from sounding like a course burst of white noise to a highly complex and subtle rendering in which I could hear the overtones shimmering off the cymbals surface along with the finely filigreed decay. In addition to this extraordinary treble resolution, the top end was free from grain and glare. In the treble, the Salon2 had the fine resolution of transient detail of the best ribbons, the transparency of an electrostatic, and the dynamics and the impact of a dynamic driver.
The Salon2s coherence is breathtaking; it sounds very much like a full-range electrostatic rather than a complex four-way, six-driver cone loudspeaker that is, there's no sense of discontinuity between drivers, just a seamless musical fabric from top to bottom. The trebles integration with the midrange is by far the best I've heard from any multi-way loudspeaker. Often, dome tweeters call attention to themselves by fostering the impression of the treble riding on top of the music, somehow detached and not quite part of the musical fabric. The Salon2 overcomes this not just with an extremely clean and grain-free top-end, as described earlier, but also with its perfect integration into the rest of the spectrum. The musical consequences of this cannot be overstated; the Salon2 sounds more like live music and less like an electromechanical recreation.
Bottom-end extension was outstanding - the Salon2 pressurized my listening room with the organ pedal tones on Rutters Requiem (Reference Recordings)."

Conclusion: The Revel Salon2 is a significant achievement in contemporary loudspeaker design. Its advanced engineering translated directly to a profoundly compelling listening experience. This loudspeaker sets a new standard in low coloration, lack of signature, seamless coherence, and truthfulness to the source, in my experience. It's a bonus that this level of performance comes in such an attractive package with a relatively small footprint. But the real icing on the cake is the Salon2s price. Although $22,000 is a big chunk of money for a pair of loudspeakers, that's a relative bargain in today's world for a truly world-class loudspeaker. And the Salon2 is without question a world-class loudspeaker.
I could not agree more with the eminent Mr. Harley's review. I quoted as much as I felt was proper to do so, please download and read the whole thing yourself if you want to. I attend CES as often as I can, and some years I have listened to virtually every sound room there. Once, I found myself sitting on the couch listening with several of the top reviewers in the business, Neil Gader from The Absolute Sound, Michael Fremer and John Atkinson from Stereophile, and many others were nearby. I have great respect for these guys. I think its a very challenging job what they do, not only listening very, very carefully, but then finding a way to translate their experiences into words that audiophiles around the world can use to decide if a piece of gear might be right for us or not.
I live in a remote place, the nearest high-end audio dealer other than myself is hundreds of miles away. Often, I have to buy a piece of gear just to get the chance to hear it. The reviewers do a lot to make it possible for me to make an informed guess about what things I might like to try. And they are very brave to put their opinions out there. I think it must take a lot of courage for Robert Harley and the other editors and writers at the Absolute Sound to choose a $22,000 speaker from Revel as their Cost Is No Object Loudspeaker of the Year. At CES, we were listening to systems anywhere from a few thousand to well over a million dollars for just a 2 channel playback system with source, amps, and a pair of speakers. To be chosen as the BEST for $22,000 retail? That is just amazing. To get these speakers here for much less, well, that is truly a blessing. If you have been successful enough in life to afford these, I thoroughly encourage you to give them a try!
Again, this listing is for a lightly used pair of Revel Ultima2 Salon2 speakers with Black Gloss Piano finish. This pair does have the 2 minor flaws close together on one speaker caused in freight coming to us. Please check the pictures. We have thoroughly tested the speakers and lived with them for a month after that damage to be sure there is absolutely no problem with them at all. We don't want you to buy something with any problem. Please check the photos carefully and see if you could live with those 2 minor flaws which are on the side where the speaker slopes toward the back and would almost certainly NOT be visible from your listening position. All sales are final with no returns or exchanges allowed unless the buyer finds a defect and reports it to High End Zone within 72 hours after delivery. If the buyer finds a defect and reports it to High End Zone by email within 72 hours after the item is delivered then High End Zone will repair, replace, or refund at our option.

In rare cases we have allowed a return to happen for a 20% restocking fee. Any item that is returned to us due to any reason other than the item not working properly or not in the condition we describe, the buyer will be charged a 20% restocking fee. This includes sales where the buyer "changes his mind", where his wife beats him over the head for spending too much money, where some unforeseen crisis, financial or otherwise, strikes the buyer, his family, his friends/ business/ job/ pets/ favorite sports team/ etc. or any other reason that the buyer may seek to cancel the sale or return the item for some reason other than a mistake or discrepancy on the High End Zone's part. And this includes cases where the buyer changes his mind and wants to cancel the sale before he even receives the item, possibly before we even ship it. We are a small company and the moment a buyer commits to purchase one of our items we are redeploying our capital to get other items for our customers to buy. If you decide 2 hours or 2 minutes after you buy something that you don't want it anymore, chances are we've already spent the money to restock. So the restocking fee absolutely applies in all cases of buyers changing their minds, wanting to cancel a sale after it is agreed or returning an item for any reason other than High End Zone providing a flawed or incorrect item. This does not mean that we will agree to accept a return or to allow for the cancelation of an order where a buyer changes his mind. An order is a contract to purchase and we are setting aside the goods for you the moment you order them. You would never want us to accept a higher offer after we accepted yours and sell the goods to someone else, and we would never do that. By the same token, we expect you to follow through on what you have contractually promised to do and to pay for your item as agreed.

So for example, if a buyer who used PayPal were to apply to PayPal for a refund because he changed his mind about purchasing an item, then IF we did give that refund it would be less the 20% restock fee. So the moral of the story is, if you're not sure you want it, just don't buy, wait until you actually are sure, and then buy. It's the same as if you're going to buy a house, you don't sign the contract til you and your wife are sure you want the house and can afford it. I feel like an idiot for having to say this but we have had a number of people who think "I changed my mind." or "My wife says I can't buy the amp." just magically gets them out of a contract they agreed to with us. With no consideration that we have incurred costs above and beyond the listing fees. By taking it off the market we may have lost potentially perfect buyers and we will have to spend more on listings fees and so on. So, we have to be strict about this and ask that buyers please be conscientious here. We charge low margins, that's only possible if people follow through and pay for items as agreed. So while all sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges unless you receive a defective item and report that within 3 days as specified above, IF for some reason we do agree to accept your return or cancel your order when there is no mistake or defect on High End Zone's part, then you agree to pay us the 20% restocking fee on your order.

In the case of items that are shipped internationally the buyer is responsible to make sure the item clears customs in a timely manner. We've had cases where buyers waited a long time to pay their customs bill, delaying the release of the item. The trouble with that is we need to know promptly if there is any problem with your item so that we can file a shipping claim if needed or withhold payment from a consignor or a supplier on a defective item, etc. So we now require that any item be picked up from Customs within 5 business days or less in order to preserve the buyer's protections for shipping damage and defective merchandise under our selling policies. We discourage the use of Postal Mail as it may be harder to meet this deadline using that shipping method. Generally FedEx will clear items within one business day.

We can sometimes make an exception to some of the above policies if you change your mind in order to buy something else that we can sell you that costs more. For example, if you make a deal to buy a JL f113 from us and then you decide that what you REALLY want is a Gotham g213, then we can probably work it out to make that switch for you without a restocking fee. That said, please don't buy if you're not sure that you want the item you are buying. If you need to check with your wife, your broker, your business partner, your kids, or the Supreme Court before you buy, please do that. The High End Zone cannot be held responsible for any case of wives beating their husbands for spending too much money on good gear!
