There are not enough words to describe how good these are. You should just come and see them in person and hear them. These are black anodized, not painted. Sonus Fabor grand piano, nope! Totem forest, not even close! YG acoustics carmel, getting closer! These are essentially modified Zaph Zd5's built in a tower speaker with 3/4" aircraft grade aluminum. These are truly one of a kind and a true audiophile labor of love. Cabinets are CNC fabricated right down to the adjustable aluminum billet port. The speaker is tuned to 33 hz. Scanspeak drivers and crossovers designed by John Krutke, a crossover wizard, and custom built. Do not think for a second that these speakers are not as good as a rapidly produced commercial design. These speakers took almost 4 months to build and are meticulously constructed as seen in the pictures. Features rubber cushion to de couple the front baffle from the rest of the speaker. Even internal bracing is 3/4" aluminum. You will not believe the solidity and focus that these cabinets produce. Sound coating and foam applied to all internal walls, these cabinets redefine what inert means. There is not another speaker like this on the planet, and Im positive there is not one that is made with 3/4" aluminum. Bass for such a small driver is absolutely remarkable, these speakers redefine what a small speaker is capable of. They are about 42"tall, and 7" wide, and 13 1/2" deep.
I compared them with all the speakers I listed above and believe it when I say that there is no comparison, with exception to the carmels. They sound almost identical. Don't believe any of this?, Come hear them and you will. Any technical info can be found on the Zaph site. If you don't require a large speakers and like Jazz, blues, acoustic, this speaker may be the last you ever buy? I have loved these for about three years now and told myself that I would never sell them. I recently built a different pair out of aluminum and really don't have room for them as I have way too much stuff. Trust me, these are the real deal. Most people of this site will have no idea what these speakers are because they only go for commercial designs. I am talking to the last of the true audiophiles out there, and we are few. I could ship them but it would be expensive and have to go freight. The speakers weigh approx 160 lbs each. They are massively heavy for their footprint. With spikes, these are literally coupled to the floor and rock solid. Please, if you are remotely close, come and hear them. I can also send more pictures upon request.
