One owner, purchased directly from Janszen Speakers. The ZA2.1 is a compact hybrid electrostatic speaker that has a small foot print and can be placed close to walls, if necessary. This is because they are not dipoles. This pair has the optional premium solid Cherry wood finish and the desirable Air Layer tweeter option. The double 7 inch acoustical suspension woofers per speaker mesh seamlessly with the electrostatic panels. Bass response will honestly reproduce low 30 cycles, cleanly. Treble and bass levels are adjustable. The ultra high end ambient (Air Layer) tweeters will enhance the already extraordinary huge soundstage of the speakers. The Air Layer is also adjustable and can be switched off if you wish. I chose these speakers after listening to many ultra high end speakers at AXPONA, these were the most "honest" recreation of music that I heard, 2 years in a row. David Janszen has taken this unique speaker concept that his father (Arthur) famously pioneered to an admirable level. These speakers seem to have no limit as to how good they can sound depending upon your room and associated equipment. They are ideal for small to medium sized rooms. David Janszen is one of the most honorable Designers/Manufacturers I have met in the 40 years that I have enjoyed this hobby! The photos will give you only an idea as to how "fresh" these speakers look, they are in the identical condition as the day they arrived. They are a true 9+ and operate flawlessly. They are about a year and a half old, but were sent to the factory for the latest updates recently. No smoke, children or pets in my dedicated listening room.
