Klipsch KBWL Klipschorn Corner horns (pair)

A pair of Klipsch Walnut corner horns, early 1980s with the original crossovers. I am the original owner. These have been used in my home for their entire lifetime, and the finish has been kept cleaned and maintained. They are fully functional and sound great. The grille fabric is clean and tight fitting, looks new. The wood veneer is in excellent condition, with a few small spots where the varnish has aged slightly, and a few scratches along the bottom of the trim pieces at the feet. Klipsch corner horns are a three way system with a horn tweeter and large midrange horn, and a folded horn design for the bass, driven by a 15" cone speaker. The bass horn incorporates the walls of the room, taking advantage of the corner placement. (You can see the tweeter and midrange horns in the photos.) Each speaker is made up of two cabinet sections, the housing for the crossover and horn elements, and the large bottom cabinet for the bass horn. These are separable for transport.

These are wonderful speakers, and I've always particularly appreciated their smooth midrange, where they really shine on vocals. The horn design makes them very efficient, so they require less power than their size would suggest. I drive them with 50 watts per channel, and get loads of clean sound out of them. The main effect of more power would be to increase the damping of transients in the low bass range. They are also beautiful furniture, with gorgeous walnut veneer. The two were made together and match perfectly in color. The difference seen in the included photo is due to the differences in the light falling on them.
