Linn DMS Isobarik Speakers A British Classic

Selling my beloved Isobarik Domestic Monitor System. These are legendary speakers but I guess you already know this. In fact, they are so noteworthy, they have their own wikipedia entry. Be sure to check it out for history and background. Back when they were introduced, they were ridiculously expensive and forward thinking design. They didn't produce many of these mostly because of the price, but they have a loyal and dedicated following. There are tons of modification and tweaks out there but these babies are all original.. except for the foam grills that tend to disintegrate. Naim even has a specific outboard active crossover in case youd like to use several amplifiers for these. I like to use them with a simple setup, either a 100W stereo solid state amplifier or dual mono tube amps. Both yield great results.

This specific model is in outstanding condition. I have installed new 3M branded Velcro tape in place of the cracking old tape. The black veneer is in great shape on all 5 sides although there is a bit of cracking near the bottom which has been repaired and stabilized so it wont go any further and is not visible at anything except close inspection. All drivers are in great shape including the rubber surrounds on all the mids and woofers. The tweeters don't have any noticeable dimples or cracks. The stands are fine also, with slight scuff here and there but nothing significant. Considering the age, they are in wonderful shape and look very smart.

The rear of the speaker features a desirable factory XLR pro audio speaker connector and I'm including the matching cables which are about 20' long and I believe are made by Naim (or at least look like it).

I havent seen many of these around. In fact, over the past few months I've only seen one other pair, so they are sure to become a collectors item as there are fewer of these available each year.

I wont go much further into the design and sound quality as there are so many forums and reviews out there.
