Merlin VSM/MM loudspeakers upgraded from superbam with new power supply and batteries by Bobby Palkovich in 2014; Master RC network with Dueland caps and Caddock Resisters. VSM internally rewired with Cardas Clear. and Cardas Clear Jumpers.
After Dynaudio decided to go into complete multi driver loudspeaker design at the turn of the Millennium and discontinue their raw driver supplies to virtually all OEM manufacturers, one of the only speakers that was still built in this Millennium with the incopmparable Dynaudio T330 Esotar tweeter was the Merlin.
Other speakers to feature this tweeter in the 80s and 90s were the first generation Sonus Fabers (Electa, Electa Amator, Extrema and Guarneri Homage) as well as the first generation Dynaudio loudspeakers. All of these remain some of the rarest and most sought after speakers on the used market
For me the original Esotar remains one of my top five tweeters. My current number one tweeter is in my $100k Rockport Speakers.
Merlins rated a 6/10 because of cosmetics. $7500 new, asking $2975.
NO speakers with the original Esotar T330 tweeters can be found for anywhere near this price.
