I purchased these speakers new in 2011 and ever since they have had a home in my home audio/theater setup. After recently moving into a new home I have decided to downsize the footprint of my system and make them available to someone else who would like to enjoy them. They are in excellent cosmetic shape and still sound as good as they did on the day they were finishing being broken in. Below is a brief description of the speakers from Nola, but you if you search Google using "Nola Viper 2A" you'll be able to find the original page from Nola's site which will have more details as well as links to reviews. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
"The Viper IIA is an upgraded version of the Viper II. The Viper IIA uses two newly designed 220mm cast-frame bass drivers with aluminum cones. These bass drivers operate in perfect piston mode over their whole operating range. The first breakup mode is at 5000 Hz while in the system; the woofer is operated to only 500 Hz. This performance greatly reduces distortion and coloration throughout the full range. Each bass driver is mounted in a separate sealed chamber. Each chamber is a different size in order to provide an improved speed-bandwidth product and a smoother room LF response. The dual woofers provide improved room loading throughout the lower midrange and mid-bass with increased power handling. Both woofers are run in parallel for maximum amplifier control."
***Note: Shipping estimates supplied by Audiogon are for a single speaker. They will be shipped in two separate packages.***
