Brodmann Acoustics VC-7 Pyramid Mahogany - PRICE REDUCED!!

These are the Brodmann VC-7 towers in Pyramid Mahogany. The first thing you will notice is that they are probably the best finished and impressive looking pair of real wood speakers you will ever see. Built in Austria by master piano craftsmen. The finish is 7 coats of lacquer with the gold lettering being under 3 of those. Fit and finish are impeccable.

But they're speakers. So how do they sound? They are unique but not in a way that colours the music. Brodmanns do many things uniquely. First off is no cabinet stuffing. Cabinets are a compromise in speaker design. Many manufacturers choose to stuff the cabinet and throw incredibly dense and heavy cabinet construction at their models. While these are precisely constructed with very solid materials they choose to let the cabinet work with the sound v.s. fight it. The side panels are actually sound boards like those found on a piano. The way they reinforce bass frequencies produces a quickness and clarity to the bass that ports and especially radiators simply cannot. Again, removing unnecessary coloration derived from decades of piano construction.

In many ways they are similar to Sonus Faber in their approach of tuned mass damping. Like the Sonus's they have beautiful timbre and realism.

I could go on and on but in short they present music so fluidly it is like the difference between Great Analog and the very Best digital. Both are clean and wonderful with plenty of detail and precision BUT,.. Analog still has that special something that lets you just listen for hours. These speakers get under your skin and make you want to listen forever. They are so natural it is uncanny.

They are best with Classical. I have heard nothing to best them and they are similar to Vienna Acoustic's in that way, but better. They are excellent at folk and acoustic music of course but they are no slouch on Rock. They are true FULL Range speakers. The bass produced by these towers is prodigious and solid.

These are 7 months old and I am on to the next newest thing, both living quarters wise and speaker wise. Time to try some bookshelves.

Rated 9/10 simply because you may find the slightest swirl somewhere in the absolutely mirror gloss finish. In my opinion 10/10 is impossible once it comes out of the box.
