Why do you want them: It is right there at the edge of guilt-free speaker purchases. Not crazy to where you have to explain your hobby to friends and family, but not so cheap as to loose the appeal of showing off. They are big. They have four 8inch woofers (which is better than two) firing at you and they are shiny.  
You know what you are looking for, you know the specs, my impression of the speaker in one word is forgiveness. They made some of my poorest recordings "enjoyable". I went passed finding only the best tracks to feed them with to finding my favorite cuts to enjoy them on.
