Shahinian Acoustics Obelisk

One pair of Shahinian Obelisks, sequential serial numbers 2538 and 2539.

These speakers sound truly unique, and breathe life to classical music and jazz like no others. Cello swells and organ crescendos are something to be experienced. A speaker suited more perfectly than most to reproducing string music. The poly-omnidirectional design produces a listening area of incredible size in a suitable room. I am willing to demo them to prospective buyers if local.

First produced in 1977 by Shahinian Acoustics, their first and flagship model, the Obelisk was considered radical in design. Over four decades later the design is still held in high regard, and still produced (with some improvements) by Shahinian.

Second owner, professionally restored, all drivers working, original cones, drivers and passive radiators. Only the surrounds have been replaced. The original black pyramid tweeter covers are present, but the plastic has degraded with age and has sagged into contact with the drivers- it should not be used with the speakers anymore and thus needs replacement (Shahinian offers them at a reasonable price). Some minor cosmetic damage to the outer veneer - light scratches, and some minor dings. These speakers have not been updated by Shahinian to latest design spec although this is a service which is offered. That decision is left to the next owner. I have had conversations with Shahinian, and we consider this pair to be historically accurate. My objective was to make them period-correct since they are truly unique pieces of design and audio history.
Although Shahinian offers replacements for the pyramidal tweeter covers, I have a pair which are NOT original and are NOT made by Shahinian, but are offered with speakers if requested.
