Thiel Audio CS-2 Loudspeakers with Tweeter Upgrade

You are browsing a matched pair of Thiel CS2, phase-coherent loudspeakers.

As with all Thiel speakers: the cabinets (although less than 4 feet tall) are built like miniature Sherman tanks. You will not hear cabinet resonances typically associated with other/lesser speakers. The speakers are also phase/time-aligned and neutral, but they shine in the silky-smooth midrange.

Serial numbers are 3203 & 3204, as shown in the photos, and were likely built in the later 80s. You will notice there are a few minor scuffs along the edges, as typical for speakers this age.

If you do a little online research, you'll find they have a reputation for having great off-axis response, and are very revealing. One of the original tweeters had come unglued, so they had to be replaced.

After much online research, I decided on the (Madisound-suggested) Eaton 25SD-1 tweeters, to match both the geometry of the originals, as well as their flat response curve. Here's the link to them:
