Here we have a pair of Thiel CS3.5 floor standing speakers with the bass equalizer for $1000. As you can see in the pictures they are very clean for a product built in the late 1980's and very early 90's. They function great and actually sound damn good considering their age. The wood veneer is in pretty good shape with only a few flaws, one of which is on the bottom front(pictured) where it has simply flaked away, and a few other scratches here and there. The tweeters have several dents in them both but seem to function flawlessly and the bass drivers seem to be in good condition.
We had a lot of fun experimenting with these Thiels. We got them sounding really quite good when we placed them facing straight out and about 10 or 12 inches from the wall. The bass was plentiful and tight and the midrange was silky smooth and tons of high resolution detail. I think maybe these were a pretty good value at $2450 in 1989.
We have the original boxes for shipping but they are heavy enough that they will need to ship freight strapped to a pallet. As always, local pick up is welcome but subject to sales tax.
Even though we believe these speakers are in great condition for their age we have to list them as "Very Poor" condition due to the dented tweeters, but as you can see in the pictures the rest of the speakers are actually quite good.
