For sale is the critically acclaimed Vienna Acoustic Imperial Liszt in Piano Black. These speakers are less than two years old and are in, "like new" condition. They have less than 100 hours of use in a pet and smoke free home. They have always been handled with the provided gloves and cleaned gently with a non abrasive cleaner, so there are no swirl marks whatsoever. I originally heard and saw them at a social gathering and was awe struck by both their stunning looks and musical quality...it was difficult for me to concentrate on anything but the Liszts the entire time. I bought a pair the next week!  Wife has finally put her foot down on my expensive hobby of moving audio pieces in and out of our reference listening system. With the aforementioned fact known, I have only purchased a few items here and never sold anything on Audiogon, so my history as a member on the site is far from extensive. However my word is my bond and any transaction that I administrate is done with the highest level of disclosure and integrity, so buy with complete confidence. For those of you in the, "know" these are a steal at this price. For all other interested parties, please do a little due diligence on these spectacular speakers to gain some unbiased color in regards to their characteristics, or better yet, go listen to any of the Vienna Acoustics models They are highly praised on forums on this site, as well such resources as, Ultraaudio, What HiFi, Sterophile, and many others. Had I not already be more heavily invested in a pair of Magico's, which are able to handle more of what my mono block amplifiers can push out,  I would have put my foot down with my wife and not let these go. Unfortunately, more gear will have to follow. The midrange is flawless! The bass fills a very large, and difficult listening room with little effort, and the high's are that of a meadowlark! They are detailed without being bright, authoritative without being overly boomy, have a great dimensional presence, and are extremely easy to drive. So for the price of a new pair of the Beethoven Concert Grand Symphony, you can by the last pair of speakers you might ever need and go up in their line to the Imperial. They are a joy to listen to and handle every type of music I play through them as though it were made specifically for it...rock, jazz, world, and if your preference in music is classical, opera and vocals...you will hear sounds that you may have been deprived of in your previous set up. As you can see and read, the midrange and tweeter sit in a completely separate cabinet enclosure that sits atop a brilliantly designed locking spindle so that you can toe-in the bottom bass cabinet as wide as needed and the mids and highs a bit more narrow, allowing the for the most micro of positioning.  The spiking design allows you to substantially tilt/cant the speakers up or down, and left to right without compromising the stability of the unit. The grills are attached to the speaker cabinets via magnets so that the face is free of unsightly holes or clips when removed to show off the attractive drivers. The speakers are currently shrink-wrapped in their original boxes and being stored in a spare bedroom until they find their new and appreciative home. I have a preferred freight company who is economical, efficient and adept at handling delicate loads. They will be further shrink wrapped and palleted for bomb proof delivery with insurance for the full $15,000 replacement value. Shipping cost will be passed on to buyer once an address is known. For direct information, you may phone or text me in person, I welcome and all inquiries or conversations regarding your next set of speakers: Brian (415)609-3209 Buyer pays Paypal fee.

The Liszt Speaker

The pinnacle of Vienna Acoustics’ Imperial Series, the LISZT is an ingenious three-way loudspeaker system using an all-new version of the patented Flat-Spider-Cone™ coincident driver technology first seen in our flagship Klimt Series™. This driver is set in a separate rotating, vented enclosure, supported by a sophisticated bass cabinet featuring three of our patented Spider-Cone woofers.

The Music Center

The heart of the LISZT design is the new 15cm Flat-Spider-Cone coincident driver; the result of an intensive development project conducted over the course of many years to further advance our patented system. This second-to-none driver assembly, which perfectly marries an astonishing new midrange with an equally remarkable tweeter, was solely developed by Vienna Acoustics and is skillfully manufactured by ScanSpeak. The midrange portion of the system employs a flat driver using our proprietary self-damping X3P polymer material strengthened by the introduction of glass fibers, which further gains structural rigidity from its twelve large 16mm reinforcement “Spider” ribs. The result of this patented technology is not only unparalleled stiffness with true pistonic behavior, but also exceptionally low mass, resulting in ultra-fast transient response and resolution. Precisely and effortlessly controlling this driver is a huge, high-force neodymium magnet assembly, built around a massive 50mm voice coil. Installed in a perfectly time-aligned position at the center of the midrange driver is our new Vienna Acoustics–designed, hand-coated silk dome tweeter, driven by a neodymium magnet motor assembly. With over two years of development, this new tweeter ranks as one of our best drivers to date. The cabinet designed to house this unique driver system makes the most of its remarkable technology. The Flat-Spider-Cone driver is housed in a separate top unit that is decoupled from the bass enclosure by a high-tech, aluminum pivoting mechanism, facilitating optimal tuning by permitting minute toe-in adjustments of the Music Center. While this basic configuration is similar to that found in the Klimt Series of speakers, unique to LISZT is the porting of the midrange cabinet. This newly VA researched suspension system allows for unsuppressed dynamic delivery and resolution.

The Bass Array

While the Music Center handles high and middle frequencies, three 7 inch Spider Cone bass drivers, with cones composed of our proprietary ribbed X3P polymer material, perform in a separate and elaborately devised enclosure.  The bass cabinet housing the drivers utilizes seven braces that divide the cabinet into two different chambers, one with a single woofer and the other with two woofers, each vented and uniquely tuned. The two lower units produce the lowest bass, working in parallel, while the single driver provides ideal transition to the midrange driver. This configuration results in tremendous bass extension with speed and liquidity.

The Fit and Finish

As with all Vienna Acoustics speaker systems, LISZT is meticulously handcrafted to the highest standards of quality in Vienna, Austria, with each finished speaker matching the reference within 0.3 dB, to ensure the most effortless and natural performance from every speaker that leaves our factory.

Questions for the seller
Can you provide some information regarding the system these speakers were hooked up to?
They were first connected to McIntosh 501's and a C2300 preamp, and they sounded great. Then in a separate room(for my own entertainment value), I ran then through some older/vintage gear that I have, a Luxman R117 and a Marantz 2265B, and they sang impressively well, due to the fact that they are very easy to drive. Thanks for asking.
