Volent Chorale CL-3

3-way bass-reflex floor standing, containing twin tweeters, a 6" mid-range driver and two (2) 6" Hextech voice coil drivers.  Made in Hong Kong (http://www.volent.com.hk/) but are solidly built with a piano gloss finish.  Silver wire cages cover the mids and woofers and the tweeters are protected with silver wire mesh.  No cloth covering to muffle the sound.  I was attracted to them because I was looking to replace my Martin Logan Aerius.  I listened and never looked back.  The speaker size are 38 1/2" (h) x 9 1/2" (w) x 14" (d).  A relatively small footprint but they make a statement when strangers set eyes upon them.  I purchase them in 2015 off the floor from a dealer and they've been powered with tubes only and have never been driven hard.

There are some scraps on the bottom from moving them off and on some marble slabs, but I repeat "On the Bottom" where they can't be seen.  What is visible is a bruise near the front bottom of one speaker which occurred moving the speaker around trying to photograph what imperfections I could find.  It can be seen only if you are on your knees and a foot in front of it.  For that reason I rated them a 7 instead of an 8 if that had not happened. I tried to take photos of all that I could find.  Excuse the bad lighting, but my condo does not provide enough natural light for photos of gloss black.   I made a local pick up from the dealer and have the shipping boxes but they are not in the best of condition.  I didn't question the condition since I was picking them up.  But I would not in good faith try shipping them.  So I'm strongly urging a "local pick up".  I know this will hurt and limit the sales potential but I want these speakers to arrive in the same shape that they are presently in.  Besides, I welcome a demo and visual inspection because the imperfections are amplified by the camera.
But perhaps if one is serious of purchasing and willing to pay for the labor of having them strapped and wrapped to a pallet, I would consider looking around for an accommodating shipping company. Thanks for looking.
