Offered at auction is a Garrard 301 transcription turntable. It has the grease bearing which I believe is more desireable than the newer oil bearing models. It's a Model 51400 Schedule 1 serial no. 16425
It seems to be fully functioning, no broken mechanisms, but doesn't obtain proper speed. I believe that may be attributed to a worn or hard idler or possibly grease in the bearing which has changed viscosity.
Cosmetically it looks better than an unrestored table of this vintage has any right to. There is no chipping of the pearl colored base. I did not attempt to clean the unit and felt the new owner would best know how to clean and restore this gem. It is being offered without plinth or pictured tonearm (please message me if anyone knows what type of tonearm this is).
