GR Research Diluceo Monitors w/ ribbon tweeters

These MTM reference monitors were designed by Danny Richie of GR Research and assembled by RAW Acoustics in Canada.

Each speaker has high quality precision components with two 5" Eton 5-880/25HEX Hexacone cast frame midbass drivers and an Aurum Cantus G2 folded ribbon tweeter. The ribbon tweeters have special custom machined aluminum faceplates with radiused cutouts on the top and bottom to allow for a closer MTM alignment and all drivers are flush mounted. They are rear ported and have a single pair of all-metal gold-plated binding posts.

They are fantastic sounding monitors, smooth and accurate with a reasonable sensitivity of 91dB. The heavy well-constructed enclosures respond to the knuckle rap test like a block of solid wood. They are finished in satin black, which looks like satin black paint until you get close and can see the subtle woodgrain of the veneer. There are a few minor factory uneven finish spots on the sides, but there are no chips or dents, and overall they look very nice and I would rate them as 8/10.
