GR Research N2X Monitors Natural Cherry

Up for auction is a pair of GR Research N2X high end type monitor speakers. These speakers were designed by Danny Richie of GR Research to compete with other high end monitors such as the Usher Audio Model BE-718 Tiny Dancer that sells for $2,800.00 a pair .They are approximately 9 months old and feature a 6-1/2” curvilinear cone woofers and BG Industries Model Neo 3 PDR deep back magnetic planer tweeters. The woofer provides exceptional smoothness and low distortion .The Neo 3 PDR deep back magnetic planer tweeter also provides exceptionally low distortion, smoothness, and detailed high frequency response. The crossovers were constructed using the optional premium performance upgrades consisting of Sonicap Gen 1 capacitors and Mills close tolerance resistors in additional to the Erse high purity copper air core inductors.. Also, the cabinet interior walls are covered with the optional No-Rez sound damping material for superior cabinet resonance control. The cabinets are custom built from 3/4 inch MDF and finished in natural cherry wood veneer with magnetic grill frames covered in black knit grill fabric. Cabinet dimensions are 14" H x 8-1/2" W x 12" D ( 12-1/2" D with grill). The speakers are sonically perfect;however, I have conservatively rated these speakers as 7/10 due to several small cosmetic blemishes with the veneer on the side and rear of one of the speaker cabinets. Not that noticeable unless you are looking up close. The N2X is a sealed type system with a frequency response range of 65 Hz - 20Khz +/- 1.5 db and a sensitivity of 85 db/1M/1W. Impedance is 8 ohms. Being a sealed cabinet design, the N2X are best used with a good subwoofer to extend the low bass when used as front main speakers. Also, they sound best when used in small to medium sized rooms. These speakers are great for both serious music listen and for HT use.

The sound quality of these speakers is amazingly good. They have a very smooth, natural, transparent sound quality with excellent imaging and sound field depth. They are especially natural sounding on such difficult music as piano and string instruments. Vocal reproduction is also excellent They are the type of speaker you can listen to for hours on end and not develop listener fatigue. The N2X are best used with amps or receivers capable of providing 8-100 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms. These speakers will be shipped individually boxed and packed for best protection. Box size is 18" W x 18"D x 18" H. Shipping weight is 24 lbs per box (48 lbs total) . Buyer pays shipping cost.
