The original owner told me this unit would do wonders and he was right. Firstly, you can use a very cheap transport and through the DSP you'll get a filtered, jitter-free signal to your DAC. I used an $1800 CDP as a transport and experimented with a $39 Magnavox DVD player with no ill effects. I sold the CDP. Secondly, if you can handle 96 Hz sampling, you'll get a smoother sound from whatever you're using (as compared to 44.1 Hz). Finally, everyone gets a signal boost and a HUGE sound stage. You may have to listen for a minute to notice that the digital edge is gone but the soundstage difference is immediate. Even an expensive DAC with jitter rejection will benefit from an enhanced soundstage. At this price it's a no brainer. You'll love what this digital processor does. [email protected].
From the reviews: "...jitter reduction, upsampling, interpolation, and amplification of the digital signal. All of these functions are intended to provide the most accurate digital signal possible at the input of your DAC.
You insert the GW Labs DSP between your transport and DAC. It takes the somewhat imperfect incoming signal and creates a new signal from it, essentially isolating the transport from the DAC"
