Hamilton Audio Paramount speakers that have been extensively upgraded by the designer, Bill Hamilton. Hamilton Audio was founded in Chicago and manufactured about 40 pairs of speakers before they shut down due to a dispute among the principals. There were only two different models produced. The Paramounts were $7500 a pair and the Everest's were $40,000 a pair. I have sourced a pair of Everest's, hence the sale of the Paramounts. The Paramounts were my only speakers in a $100,000 system for seven years. They are that good and would easily sell for $12,000-$15000 if produced now. Bill spent almost 4 years designing and refining this design and it uses the Kimber Di-Aural circuit in the crossover. The soundstage has no boundaries and the bass is suprisingly deep for a stand mount. They are very large for stand mounts and weigh 50 lbs each without stands. This pair is finished in a beautiful tiger maple and comes with the custom Hamilton Audio stands that were designed for the Paramount. I am the original owner and purchsed these approximately 7 years ago. Bill is a personal friend of mine and has modified this pair with the Dynaudio Esotar tweeter, Mundorf inductors , Deuland resistors, WBT next gen binding posts, and the latest Nanotec gen three copper wire. The original Paramount speakers used the Dynaudio D-28 tweeter. Due to all the improvements, this pair is much more dynamic, resolving, and refined than the original version which was excellent. There is one small mark on one cabinet that can be seen when looking very close up. I included a photo. The black stands have several small nicks that have been touched up with black marker. Overall, they are in above average condition.
The efficiency is rated at 89db and I was driving them with a pair of 22 watt set amplifiers. I would recommend a minimum of 22w single ended, 40w, push pull, or 100w solid state. Paypal adds 3%. Local pickup, or I will meet someone within a 3 hour drive from Chicago. Thanks for looking!
