The Hansen Prince V2 can doubtlessly be called the smaller version of the Emperor, as it basically shares the same architecture and the same design only on a smaller scale, obviously meant for those who want Hansen sound quality in their rooms, but these spaces are of smaller dimensions therefore the presence of huge loudspeakers is not necessary.

The Hansen Prince V2 sports the same heritage of its larger brothers and is by far a proud carrier of the Hansen experience in the art of making audiophile loudspeakers. Everything denotes extreme care for perfection, from the smallest details to the finish on the large composite cabinet.

This floorstanding loudspeaker sports a cabinet made from Hansen “composite Matrix” proprietary materials and has a very uncanny, almost organic shape. Not only does this shape help breaking better the standing waves which usually develop inside loudspeakers during playback, but the curvaceous and flowing front baffle is one of the key elements for the Hansen Prince V2's time and dispersion coherence, strong points which extremely few speakers can brag about.

Even more, the very shape of the cabinet helps for more acoustic inertness and a stronger behavior when it comes to the inherent vibrations and resonance. The Prince V2 sports only one bass driver with a 11” diameter and placed in the lower (and larger) part of the cabinet, just above the slotted bass reflex port. The membrane is made from the same “exotic multi-layer composite sandwich cone” like the bigger loudspeakers in the Hansen series sport and its response, enhanced by the bass venting reaches a rumbling sound around 23Hz, rendering a separate subwoofer almost futile.

The tweeter and midrange drivers are placed in the upper portion of the cabinet, tweeter atop, in a narrower part of the cabinet, specifically engineered to comply with the sonic response of these drivers. The midrange driver's 7.5” cone is hand-assembled and provides super-rich and clear, sparkling mids for both vocals in music and dialogs in movies alike. The tweeter is loaded in a 6mm dispersion-optimized aluminum frontplate and it uses a 1” hi-performance dome with increased acoustic characteristics and whose response reaches 23kHz.
