Heathkit W-5M Stereo Amplifier - Stunning!

Here is a great opportunity to own a unique Heathkit W-5M setup. Two W-5M mono amps were completely disassembled from their hideous stock chassis, and then rebuilt on a single brass plate platform. The following upgrades were performed as well: the output tranny's and chokes were sanded, primed and painted; an industrial grade power transformer was substituted for the smaller weak and worn out originals; all new heavy duty power supply filtering; new signal caps and resistors; new binding posts and RCA output jacks; new power cord; and a solid wood base. The output tranny's are the more desirable and durable Peerless 16458 types. Tubes are and excellent quad of RCA 6L6GC black plates that are closely matched on my maximatcher; 2 vintage 6GH8 drivers, and a Mullard 5AR4 rectifier.
The amp sounds absolutely superb. Huge low end and incredibly smooth and clean mids and highs. Looks very sharp as well. Hate to let this one go, but I am thinning out my rather massive amp collection. I also have a beautiful Pilot 264 type amp listed as well. Prefer check or m.o., but will consider paypal as well.
