Very clean, pair of DIY ICEPower 1000ASP Based Amp Monoblocks. 1000 WPC @4 Ohms, 500 WPC @8 Ohms. More power than you will ever need. Amps are 120V, not wired for 220V. Module can be reconfigured for 220V by buyer. Gain is 27db Single ended and 33db Balanced.
Bel Canto Ref 1000 has the exact ICEPower 1000ASP Module as well as the Jeff Rowland 501. The Bel Canto (and amp in this posting) do not have an input buffer like the Rowland 501. The Input Buffer allows the amp to better match higher output impedance preamps (ie Tubes).
I had this amp on Audible Illusion Modulus 3A preamp, an Audio Research SP6 preamp, as well as other higher output impedance preamps and heard no audible issues that would be corrected by a buffer.
Monoblock chassis is an attractive all aluminum design, with a few smudges and scratches. There is a switch between Single Ended RCA and XLR Balanced inputs.
The amp was replaced with another Homebrew ICEPower 1000ASP modules in a stereo chassis to match a preamp. These amps drove my Magnepan Tympani IVa perfectly (sold).
Google "1000ASP Perfect Amp" and it will lead you to an interesting 6 Moons article about these incredible amplifier modules.
Each amp is 13" long x 9" wide x 4" tall.
