Connectors for VOVOX® textura IC balanced

For balanced cables, we use XLR connectors from Amphenol. The reduced
mass of the gold plated contacts complies perfectly with our own design
criteria.

Made in Switzerland
VOVOX® sound conductors are hand-assembled in Switzerland. The cables, including the solder, are lead-free.

 Minimized Boundary Surfaces
Cables have many
surfaces, or more precisely expressed, boundary surfaces, like the grain
boundaries in copper, or the boundary between the conductor surface and
the insulation. Each boundary is a source of imperfection. VOVOX® sound
conductors are made of single solid core conductors. Using this
construction, the total boundary surface is reduced by up to 90%
compared to stranded wires. Since VOVOX® textura IC direct has no
shielding, the surface of the conductor is once more drastically reduced
compared to a conventional, coaxial cable.

Cable coating with natural fibers
The contact
surface between the conductor and the dielectric medium must accommodate
complex interactions. Thanks to the tried-and-tested solid-core
concept, these effects can be efficiently reduced. VOVOX® textura
fortis, textura and vocalis are further improved by a fine meshwork of
natural fibers that form a protective wrapping around the conductor.
Triboelectrical phenomena are no longer possible. The difference
is audible: tranquillity instead of disturbance, an incredibly tidy
stage, perfect transparency. 

Conductor Spacing
Current induces
electromagnetic fields encircling every conductor. If the distance
between two conductors is too small, interactions and interferences are
created. The result is an audible loss of sound quality. As a
consequence, the conductors are arranged at well-defined, relatively
large distances. 

Continuous Cast Copper
For the cables of the
VOVOX® textura fortis and textura series we use conductors of ultra pure
continuous cast copper. A patented process permits the continuous
casting of 99.99998% pure copper. This procedure is most demanding and
time-consuming. Thanks to the very, very slow production speed of only a
few centimeters per minute, it is possible to control precisely the
growth of copper crystals. The result: tailored conductors of highest
quality. 

Conditioning
VOVOX® textura fortis sound
conductors run through a cryogenic treatment at -180°C. Although there
are hardly any scientific explanations for the effect of cryogenic
treatment and running-in cables, we are sure the effort pays off: tThe
difference is audible. In addition, the assembled cables with the
connectors are conditioned in a optimized run-in process. This
refinement guarantees optimal audio quality already after a short
warm-up time of 10 - 20 minutes. Nevertheless their full potential will
be reached after additional 50 - 200 hours of service.
