"Chick Corea was involved in a wide variety of projects during the early 1980s, some acoustic, others electric, and everything from solos and duets to orchestral projects. Touchstone really displays quite a bit of diversity with features for flamenco guitarist Paco DeLucia, a one-song ("Compadres") reunion of Return to Forever (with guitarist Al DiMeola, bassist Stanley Clarke, and drummer Lenny White), a spot for alto-great Lee Konitz ("Duende"), and a conventional sextet outing on "Dance of Chance." A bit uneven but with its interesting moments, Touchstone is worth checking out." - AMG
Side I Hot Stamper
Mastered by Bernie Grundman
The record is NM.
Jacket is Mint-.
The LP sounds Mint+.
An absolutely amazing Side 1. Micro-detail and dimensionality are what this side is about. The Guitars sound alive - you can clearly hear and feel when the strings are plucked or muted and sense the vibration of the soundboard. The sound stage is wide and very deep. Side 2 is excellent. Power and dynamics are forefront here. Turn up your volume one notch for this side (compared to Side 1).
Surface noise is extremely low and only present between tracks and on some very quiet passages.
Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get.
