This is a JVC DLA=RS1 LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon) projector. It has a 17,000:1 NATIVE contrast ratio, which means that you have true 17,000:1 contrast on the screen constantly. Most projectors have a dynamic contrast, which includes a dynamic iris that opens or closes to increase the overall contrast ratio. However, the true contrast on the screen is less then 7,000:1. Even compared to the new projectors on the market with 100,000:1 + dynamic contrast, this projectors has a higher ON SCREEN contrast ratio. It is 900 lumens, and comes with an extra bulb. Currently there are over 1000 hours left on both bulbs. It is rated at color temperature D65, out of the box, giving you a great image right out of the box. It is a 1 owner projector, that has been hanging in a home theater.
