I have a Kenwood KR-9940 receiver for sale. This is a "monster" receiver, and boasts 50 wpc in quadraphonic mode and 100 wpc in stereo. It was serviced on February 22, 2012 by John Ledbetter at Northwest Audio Service. He took the whole thing apart and cleaned the A & B speaker switching, the speaker relay controls, and some other scratchy controls as well, and he touched up the tuner as well. The receiver sounds absolutely fantastic, but I am unfamiliar with quadraphonic equipment and am sticking with stereo receivers for now. It is in very good condition for it age, but it has a few minor flaws. First, the left power meter is sticky. It was having some problems before, and although John got it unstuck simply by cleaning the receiver, it got stuck again when I was testing the power meters before writing this ad. There are a few scratches on the wood on both sides, and I tried to capture these scratches with the photos I took. The knobs also seem to be a little dirty, but they are in pretty good condition for the receiver being nearly 40 years old. The lettering is all intact.
This is my first audiogon post. You gotta start somewhere! This receiver will be carefully double packed and shipped at the buyer's expense, and I will include the receipt from the recent servicing.
