I am on my second of my 5 year cycles. I buy some of the most amazing stereo set-ups and then realize I never have time to listen to it and sell all my equipment 3 years later. Then 2 years after that, I think "Man, I really would like a great stereo system" and, with a roll of my wife's eyes, it starts all over again.

A long time ago, I once heard the Accuphase DP75 and thought it was one of the best pieces of equipment I ever heard. It retailed for $13k at the time and is a pretty old model so maybe I'm showing myself to be a novice but I'm honest. I thought that was THE ONE. Then I came across the review for this Lector and had a chance to demo it. I have never, not once, thought about the DP75 again. I'm not saying the Lector blew it away because I never got a chance to put them side-by-side, but I had almost totally forgotten about the DP75.

Excellent condition. Comes in original box, with remote and manual. Paypal, add 3%.

Soundstage Review:
"Silky, glowing sound, with more tonal elegance than just about any digital source around. In particular, the CDP-7T/Mk III reproduced massed strings as well as any source Ive heard short of LP." "Bass was deep and powerful. It wasnt boomy or mushy, either."

The Lector CDP-7T/Mk III is not only the best-sounding CD player Ive heard at its mid-level price point, but one of the best CD players Ive heard, period. In fact, it sounds better than most SACD playback I've heard in areas where SACDs traditional strengths lie: bass response and tonal sophistication. Not having heard many significantly higher-priced digital players, I cant say if the Lector player betters them, but any way I look at it, the CDP-7T/Mk III is one superb CD player, and one I would certainly buy.
