Lenco GL-75 Gloss Red with AdvancedDAnalog MG-1 Airbearing

Original Goldring Lenco GL-75 turntable reset into a high-gloss red plinth, plus an AdvancedDAnalog MG-1 “frictionless” tangential air-bearing tonearm system. Includes one air bearing with two compatible tonearms (one carbon fiber, one fiber/aluminum). Interchanging them is a snap --- slip over bearing, set height with built-in digital micrometer, plug in audio and you’ve got tangential alignment! Much has been written about the superiority of tangential tonearms, but you have to hear it to believe it. This particular tonearm offers exceptional performance at a comparatively low price point for tangential systems.

The plinth has a piano-like, high-gloss red finish that hides about 80-lbs of vibration-absorbing mass. This new setting rigidifies Lenco’s classic design, already known for its high fidelity metal idler drive wheel and heavy aluminum platten that result in ultralow vibration and high inertia, giving excellent playback. Four speeds (16, 78, 45 and 33 ¼ RPM). Sale includes original Lenco mat, continous-operation air pump and air tubing. Does not include cartridge. Approx. 18"x 15"x7".

Air bearing / tonearm system is in like-new condition. Everything works great. Condition downgrade is because of one small nick on front face (see photo) and because platten bore diameter is a few thousandths of an inch too large. This has been fixed by applying a thin, adhesively-backed aluminum foil to the tapered spindle to bring the platten to the proper height. This may need to be replaced periodically or after shipping but is quick to do. Extra aluminum tape is included for your convenience.
