This is the 25th Anniversary edition Linn Lingo turntable power supply for the Linn Sondek LP12 turntable. The 25th Anniversary medallion is on the bottom as shown in the photos. The Lingo was designed by Linn to improve the performance of the LP12 by regulating the speed of the motor much more accurately and reducing the motor's vibrations. It does this by filtering the incoming AC into DC and then using precision oscillators to generate it's own highly accurate AC signal. This precise signal is then amplified to drive both phases of the motor with extremely low vibration. The Lingo creates a sonic transformation on the Linn Sondek LP12 allowing you to hear more of the music and follow the playing of the musicians much better. The improvement is audible from the lowest to the highest frequencies. The Lingo is substantially superior to the Valhalla board and gives the added ability to switch to 45RPM electronically.
This Linn Lingo is exceptionally clean as you can see from the photos. Everything on the unit is clean and in near-mint condition. I have checked closely and can find no marks at all – even on the feet. This Lingo looks like it just came out of the box. This is also one of the later “shoebox” Lingos so it has the very rugged crackle finish and the newer style power switch. Functionally it is like new, regulating the turntable's speed perfectly and giving your LP12 performance that, in my opinion and that of many, exceeds any other turntable. This is a great way to upgrade an LP12 that has a Valhalla – especially as many of the old Valhallas are failing and need a rebuild to keep running.
As pictured, this Lingo includes all the accessories you need to get it up and running on your LP12: the internal circuit card for the turntable, the switch for the top plate with 33 and 45RPM indicators and the cable to transfer power and switching signals between the Lingo and the LP12. It also includes the original Linn AC cables (generic cables, and even many expensive ones, sound worse) and a printed copy of the owner’s manual. It will ship in the original box which I will double box for extra protection. The purchaser will pay for actual shipping and insurance plus a $5.00 packaging fee, see the shipping calculator for the charges. Please email me with any questions.
